Sammy Lee Crotts

Sammy Lee Crotts, 65, of Bollinger Loop in Morganton went home to be with Lord surrounded by his family and friends on Sunday, April 12, 2009 following a brief illness. He was born September 1, 1943 in Burke County, NC, and was a son of the late Clayton Crotts and Lucy Hoyle Crotts. Sammy was a member of Nowlings Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. He was a man of many talents in his lifetime and worked for many years in the textile industry. Sammy loved working in his flower garden and was a devoted son, husband, father, and brother. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, but his memory will always endure.Sammy is survived by a son, Eddie Crotts of Morganton; brothers, Tom Crotts and Rodger Crotts and his wife, Ruth, all of Morganton; sisters, Ruby Green of Piney Flats, TN, Frances Milligan and Kathy Coffey and her husband, J. T., all of Morganton.In addition to his parents, Sammy was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Juanita Bollinger Crotts, who died February 25, 2009; a brother, Junior Crotts; and a sister, Betty Moses.Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 15, 2009 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Darvy Hensley officiating. Entombment will follow at Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Wednesday one hour before the service at the funeral home.
