Sarah Ann Johnson

Sarah Ann Johnson, 89, of Morganton, NC went home to be with Jesus on Monday, January 11, 2021 after a brief illness. Born on February 7, 1931 in Watauga County, she was the daughter of the late Clark and Clara Maines Isaacs of Valle Crucis. She was raised in the Pentecostal faith and was employed with Grace Hospital for over 20 years.

She is survived by her daughters, Julie Epley (Dean) of Morganton and Lisa Welch of Winston-Salem; special nieces, Betty Burleson Boone (Bobby), Sherry Pittman (Derrell), Barbara Staton (Ken), and Janet Townsend.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Johnson and all her brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends from 2:00pm-4:00pm Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral will begin at 4:00pm in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Bishop John Smiley and Evangelist Eileen Meyers officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
