Sarah Leona Mills Fletcher

Sarah Leona Mills Fletcher, 85 of Morganton, NC was welcomed into Heaven by Jesus, Himself on Saturday, March 26, 2016. Born in Burke County on March 3, 1931, Sarah was a daughter of the late Zeb William Mills and Hattie Elizabeth Gurley Mills. She was a member of El Bethel Baptist Church.
Mrs. Fletcher is survived by her children, Richard Fletcher and Susan Fletcher, both of Morganton; grandchildren, Amber Lane Garrington and husband, John, Chevie Lanae Fletcher, and Chesnee Jackson; and great-grandchildren, Christopher and Courtney Garrington. She is also survived by sisters, Louise Brinkley of Florida and Oris Page of Valdese; and brother, David Mills of Valdese.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Fletcher was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Thomas Fletcher and sisters, Corrie Holiday, Jessie Greene, and Vernie Keller.
The family will receive friends from 2 -3 p.m., Monday, March 28, 2016 at El Bethel Baptist Church. The graveside service will begin at 3 p.m. in the church cemetery with Rev. Ron Cooper presiding.
