Sarah "Tippy" Doak

Sarah “Tippy” Doak, 73, of Morganton passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2018.  Born in Morganton March 2, 1945, she was the daughter of the late John Roper and Pearl McGalliard Roper.  Tippy was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.

Tippy was a hardworking and determined individual.  She was someone you could depend on and was known to be the life of the party.  Tippy loved to sing, dance, and often played bingo with her many friends.  She will be remembered as a beautiful, smart, and caring woman to all the lives she touched.

Tippy is survived by her sons, Shannon Doak of Denver, CO and Todd Wesley Doak of Morganton; and a granddaughter, Lexus Alexandria Doak of Morganton.

In addition to her parents, Tippy was preceded in death by her husband, William Edward Doak; 4 sisters, Ann, Betty, Ruby, and Maxine; and a brother, Jerry.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m., Monday, June 25, 2018 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center.  The memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Margaret Ashby officiating.
