Scotty L. Callahan, 79, of Connelly Springs, NC, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 18, 2022.
Born in Avery County, NC on June 10, 1943, he was the son of the late Pat Nester Callahan and Della Wright Callahan. Scotty owned and operated several restaurants in Burke County in the 70s, 80s, and 90s. His most notable restaurants were the Pink Panther and the Caboose. Scotty was a doting father and grandfather who was always willing to listen and lend a hand. He was generous with his time and money, and the greatest lesson he taught his children was to never lie.
Scotty enjoyed classic cars, motorcycles, and loved his dog, Gunner, like his child. He dearly loved his friends and neighbors. His sense of humor is what made him a delight to be around. He will be missed.
Scotty is survived by his children, Jeffery S. Callahan, Patty Allison Queen (Eric), and Jared Callahan; grandchildren, Sierra Marston and Rileigh Queen; and brothers, Lawson, Rick, and Charlie Callahan.
A celebration of Scotty’s life will be held at a later date.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
