Committal
Senia Carpenter Pendley, 101, of Morganton, NC went to be with Jesus on Saturday, April 15, 2017. Born in Mitchell County, NC on April 3, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Henry Carpenter and Dona Willis Carpenter. Senia was a member of Central Baptist Church and was a former member of Victory Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. She was a God-loving woman and her family was her life.
Mrs. Pendley is survived by her son, Terry Pendley and wife, Janet, of Glen Alpine, NC; daughter, Joyce Burnette, Jan Houston, Dottie Cannon Beck and husband, James, Kay Saulmon and husband, Rick, and Kim Mace and husband, Chris, all of Morganton. She was blessed with 28 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 31 great-great-grandchildren. Senia is also survived by daughters-in-law, Dee Pendley of Morganton and Shirley Pendley of Raleigh, NC; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Senia was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Bill Pendley; 2 sons, Clarence “Gray” Pendley and Billy Dean Pendley; 2 granddaughters; 1 great-grandson; and all of her brothers and sisters.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2 pm, Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Victory Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 427 Lost Corner Road, Morganton. The funeral will be held at 2 pm at the church with US Army Chaplain, Cpt. Jason Southard and Rev. Thom Hartman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
