Seth Tyler Carswell

Seth Tyler Carswell, 19, of Marion, NC passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2011 as the result of an automobile accident. Seth was born in Burke County, NC on May 8, 1992. Seth was raised in the Free Will Baptist Faith. He graduated from McDowell County Early College in May of 2011. He was a kind, tender hearted person who had many friends.Seth is survived by his father, Charles W. Carswell of Morganton; his mother, Levonda Hensley Smith and husband, Charles, of Marion; brothers, Charles Matthew Carswell of Morganton, Kyle William Carswell and wife, Casee, of Pensacola, FL, and Calvin D. Metcalf and wife, Marisol, of El Paso, TX; a sister, Brianna Moretz of Marion; a nephew, Caleb Carswell; nieces, Kailyn Carswell, Hannah and Gracie Carswell, and Madison Metcalf; and his maternal grandparents, Rev. Dan and Voneta Hensley.Seth was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, W.E. and Willeskie Carswell.The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 3, 2011 at Nowlings Chapel Free Will Baptist Church with Reverends Darvy Hensley and Dan Hensley officiating. Burial will follow in the Carswell Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center. Memorial contributions may be made to Nowling’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, 5061 US Hwy 64, Morganton, NC 28655 to help the family with funeral expenses.
