Shannon Andrew Fox

Shannon Andrew Fox, 33, of the Longtown Community, NC passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 22, 2013. Born in Burke County, NC on July 8, 1979, he was the loving son of Derryl George Fox and Geraldine Whisnant Fox of the Longtown Community. Shannon attended Calvary Assembly of God and was a 1997 graduate of Freedom High School. Mr. Fox was talented in many areas. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed camping. He also enjoyed operating construction equipment and welding.In addition to his parents, Shannon was a loving and devoted husband to Jessica Graves Fox and father to Madison, Emily, Logan, and Cierra Fox. He is also survived by his sisters, Debra Whisnant and her husband, Jerry, of Morganton and Crystal Bowman and her husband, Kevin, of Mt. Airy, NC; brothers, Gary Fox and Brian Fox and his wife, Micki, all of Michigan; his maternal grandmother, Martha Whisnant; and his loving canine companion, Pinto Bean.Shannon was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Charlie Fox and Vergie Abner and her husband, Nola; and his maternal grandfather, Levi Whisnant.The funeral will be held at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Calvary Assembly of God with the Rev. George Crawford and the Rev. Mike Whisenant officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center where the body will remain until placed in the church thirty minutes prior to the funeral hour.
