Shawn Russ Barlow, 52, of Morganton, NC, went home to meet his Lord on Tuesday, September 6, 2022.
Born in Burke County, NC on June 2, 1970, he was the son of Thomas Edward Barlow and Irene Russ Barlow. Shawn
was a quiet, loving person who would go the extra mile to help anyone. He loved the mountains and his family dearly. Shawn worked for Morganton Dye and Finishing and the state of North Carolina.
In addition to his parents, Shawn is survived by a son, Michael Russ; daughter, Summer Nicole Barlow; brother, Kevin Edwards Barlow and wife, Evelyn; nephews, Jonathan Barlow and Luke Barlow; and numerous cousins and extended family.
Mr. Barlow was preceded in death by a daughter, Kayla Michelle Barlow; paternal grandparents, Richard and Lucille Barlow; and his maternal grandparents, Arthur Buren Russ and Edna Russ.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. in the church with Dr. Jack Hodges officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
