Shelvia York Lail

Shelvia York Lail, 70, of Connelly Springs, NC died Wednesday, February 6, 2013. Born March 2, 1942 in Burke County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Clyde Arlen York and Mary Olivia York. Shelvia was a member of Providence Baptist Church.A loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Shelvia is survived by her husband, Russell Lail of the home; a son, Michael Lail and wife, Debi, of Connelly Springs, NC; a grandson, Benjamin Lail of Fayetteville, NC; two step-grandchildren, Chris Ledford, his wife, Candy, and their three sons, all of Maiden, NC, and Ryan Ledford, his wife, Tracy, and their three sons, all of Icard, NC.In addition to her parents, Shelvia was preceded in death by a brother, Arlin Darlis York.Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Chuck Hensley officiating. Family and friends will gather in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Crossnore Academy, 129 Allen Circle, Crossnore, NC 28616. Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory center is assisting the family with arrangements.
