Sherry Fisher Hunt

Sherry Fisher Hunt, 46, of Morganton, NC died Thursday, March 25, 2010. Born in Burke County, NC on June 19, 1963, she was the daughter of Jerry Carl Fisher and Mary Aileen Whisnant Fisher of Morganton. Sherry was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church where she was very active in the church. She drove the church van, sang in the choir, and helped with children ministries. Sherry was a teacher assistant for special needs children at Ray Childres Elementary School, was an Avon representative, and was attending Lee’s McRae College where she was working towards her B.S. in education.In addition to her parents, Sherry is survived by her son, John Everett Avery of Morganton; a daughter, Elizabeth Alexandria Hunt of Morganton; sisters, Carla Jean Fisher and Cameron Anne Fisher and friend, Dustyn Reece, all of Morganton; a brother, Jerry Fisher, Jr. and wife, Jodi, of Morganton; and nephews, Marcus, Austin, Tristan, and Caden.The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 3, 2010 at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Dewey Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Sossoman Funeral Home where the body will remain until placed in the church thirty minutes prior to the funeral hour. At other times the family will be at the home of Sherry’s parents.
