Shirley Epley Yount

Shirley Epley Yount, 75, of Morganton died on Saturday, August 15, 2015. Born in Burke County, NC on March 13, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Walter Epley and Vassie Buff Epley.
Shirley was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She retired from Burke County Tax Office after twenty years of service. Shirley was a member of Missionary Ridge Baptist Church.
Shirley is survived by her daughters, Sheila Taylor and husband, Robert of Morganton, Lisa Hughley and husband, Mark of Destin, Florida; son, Bill Yount and wife, Ila of Columbia, South Carolina; grandchildren, Robb Taylor, Morgan and Zach Hughley; great-grandchildren, Trey and Jace Taylor; sisters, Edith Hutchins, Shelby Epley; brothers, Ray, Joe, and Nelson Epley.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Yount; and brother, Thomas Epley.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 19, 2015 from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. at Missionary Ridge Baptist Church. The funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. at the church with Rev. Al Tinnin and Rev. Chris Dale officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
At other times the family will be at the home of the daughter, Sheila Taylor of Morganton, NC.
