Stanley Max Whisnant

Stanley Max Whisnant, 63, of Morganton, NC, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 9, 2022.

Born in Burke County, NC on March 30, 1959, he was the son of the late Max Gardner Whisnant and Ardie Faye Hildebran Whisnant.  Stanley was a member of Grandview Baptist Church.  He retired from Autozone with over 20 years of service.  Mr. Whisnant was an avid bowler and he was a member of many different teams over the years.  He also enjoyed playing golf and was a scratch golfer.  Stanley was a caring person who never met a stranger.

Mr. Whisnant is survived by his sons, Marcus Whisnant (Alison) and Aaron Pittman; grandchildren, Cole Whisnant, Molly Benfield, and Max Whisnant; and nephews, Tim, Tyler, and Tegan Whisnant.

In addition to his parents, Stanley was preceded in death by a brother, Timothy Gardner Whisnant.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Sunday, October 23, 2022 at Sossoman Funeral Home.  The memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home.
