Stephen Lee Perry, 73, of Morganton, NC passed away Thursday, October 22, 2020 after a battle with lung cancer. Born in Williamson County, IL on August 7, 1947, he was the son of the late Robert Lee Perry and Sybol Rose Smith Perry. Stephen was a veteran of the US Army, having served in a military hospital in Alaska during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed woodworking, camping, and playing church-league softball. He was a member of BPOE #2319 in Sikeston, MO.
Stephen is survived by his children, Amy Perry Harsell (Virgil) of Hannibal, MO, Drew Michael Perry of Bolivar, MO, and Anna Perry Starks of Poplar Bluff, MO; grandchildren, Shyllan Starks, Iazzack Starks, and Ellen Harsell; sister, Yvonne “Bonnie” Perry of Granite City, IL; the mother of his children, Cheryl Perry; numerous aunts, uncles, and extended family; and his long-time companion, Betty Murray of Morganton, NC.
In addition to his parents, Stephen was preceded in death by a brother, Scott Perry.
No services are planned for Mr. Perry at this time.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
