Sterling "Shad" Causby, 67, of Morganton went to his Heavenly Home Wednesday, November 5, 2014. Sterling was born February 26, 1947, in Burke County to the late Frank and Louise Pearson Causby. He was retired from Drexel Heritage and was loved by everybody.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife, Mary Lynn Wheeling Causby; son, Michael "Bubby" Causby; step-son, Jonathon Watts and brother, Jim Causby.
Sterling is survived by his wife and companion of 14 years, Sandra Mace Causby; step-children, Andrew Watts, Cory Carter and Brittany Yancey all of Morganton; a number of step-grandchildren; a nephew, Jimmy Ray Causby and his wife, Sherry of Morganton; and a great-nephew, Jacob Causby.
The graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Park Hill Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Donald Lovelace officiating. The family will greet friends in the cemetery following the service. Sterling will lie in state from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday at the funeral home.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
