Steven Wayne Coleman

Steven Wayne Coleman, 49, died Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Grace Hospital. He was born in Burke County on June 23, 1962 and was a son of the late Ralph James and Myrtle Geneva Wilson Coleman. Steven graduated from Freedom High School and earned a degree in accounting from Appalachian State University. He worked at Leviton for 18 years; was an avid reader and loved the ocean.Surviving are his siblings, Jeff Coleman and wife, Sally, Elizabeth Mathis and husband, Sam, all of Morganton, Louise Dellinger and husband, Paul, of Lenoir, Ralph James Coleman, Jr., and wife, Wanda, of Claremont, Donna Whisenant of Wilmington, and Douglas Coleman and wife Michelle, of Cookeville, Tenn; three nephews, six nieces; three great nephews; and ten great nieces.A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Friday, February 3, 2012 at Nowlings Chapel Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Darvy Hensley officiating. The family will receive friends Friday one hour before the service. Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family.
