Sue Dale, 79 of Morganton, NC went to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday afternoon, January 12, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at her home. Born on July 28, 1945, she was the daughter of the late William and Vernie Houser. Sue was such a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a member of Denton’s Chapel Church. Sue enjoyed working puzzles, working in her flower garden, canning, and making apple butter and jellies. She also loved to collect antique buttons and chickens. Sue loved feeding and watching the birds outside.

Sue is survived by her husband, James Arthur “Flop” Dale, Jr.; children, Tammy Panther, Jeff Panther (Carly), Carla Panther Causby, Franklin Dale (Joy), Jeff Dale; grandchildren, Jeffery Panther (Jessica), Jennifer Panther (Travis), Josh Dale (Brianna), Jake Causby (Stephanie), Brittney Teague (Wes), Austin Panther, Colin Panther, Haiden Dale; great-grandchildren, Destiny Lee, Colin Lee, Alena Panther, Khloie Dale, Oaklee Dale; siblings, Donald Houser (Sarah), Ronnie Houser (Sybil), Kaye Towery; her other children, k-9 companion, Lily Rose Dale, African Grey Parrot, Casey Joe Dale; and a number of nieces, nephews and extended family.

In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her first husband, Carl Thomas Panther; sister, Linda Joyce Greene (Bobby); sons-in-law, Jimmy Ray Causby, John Tucker Jr.; Ray Towery.

The family will receive friends from noon until 1pm, Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Denton’s Chapel Church. A funeral will follow in the church with Jimmy Queen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
