Sue Shepherd Stringer, 74, of Morganton passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2021. Born in Ashe County, NC on June 9, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Tom Shepherd and Pearl McNeill Shepherd. Sue was a member of Mt. Home Baptist Church. She loved to share her faith and was a warrior in the army of God. She was a friend and mentor to everyone, enjoyed writing notes and cards, and encouraged people in their daily lives. Sue loved her family very much.
Mrs. Stringer is survived by her husband, Patrick Stringer; daughter, Emily Stringer Cox (Kent); grandchildren, Kenly Grace Cox and Caleb Patrick Cox; sisters, Donna Hodges (Joe) and Pat Colson (Charles); and a brother, Bob Shepherd (Brenda).
In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by a sister, JoAnn Watson.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Mt. Home Baptist Church. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, August 22 in the church with Rev. Jerry Gamble officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
