Susan A. Barrie

Susan A. Barrie, 65, of Morganton passed away Saturday, October 27, 2018.  Born in Jamestown, TN on April 15, 1953, she was the daughter of the late William Green and Freida Baker.  Susan was a member of Denton’s Chapel United Methodist Church and was very active with Burke County Friends for Animals.  She worked with Blue Ridge Health Care for 28 years, Burke Hospice for 3 years, and spent the last 3 years taking care of her husband.

A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Susan is survived by her husband, David Barrie of the home; son, Brandon and Mary Barnette of Morganton; grandchildren, Tyler, Ava, Jacob, Kayla, and Steven Barnette; 2 great-grandchildren; brother, Wayne Green of Columbia, SC; and sister, Sonya Sutton of Columbia.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m., Sunday, November 4, 2018 at Dentons Chapel United Methodist Church.  The memorial service will follow at 5 p.m. in the church with Rev. Phillip Hefner officiating.
