Susie Nadine Orders

Susie Nadine Orders, 88, of Glen Alpine, NC died Thursday, October 16, 2014.  Born January 25, 1926 in Jellico, Tennessee, she was a daughter of the late Roy Letner and Mamie Conard Letner.  Susie was a retired employee of Morganton Dye and Finishing with over 27 years of service.  She was an avid reader, and enjoyed working word search and Sudoku puzzles.

She is survived by children, Marie Avery and husband, Elmer of Morganton, and Gary Lynn Orders and James McDaniels and wife, Shirley, all of Glen Alpine; a daughter-in-law, Ursula McDaniels of Morganton; four grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Susie was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. “Bud” Orders; a son, David McDaniels; three brothers and two sisters.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 19, 2014 at Glen Alpine Cemetery with Rev. Terry Robinson officiating.  The family will greet friends immediately following the service.  At other times, the family will be at the residence of Mrs. Orders.  Memorial contributions may be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 1721 Enon Rd., Valdese, NC 28690 or to Praise Assembly of God, PO Box 897, Glen Alpine, NC  28628.
