Sylvia Ann Denton Simpson

Sylvia Ann Denton Simpson, 66, of Rutherford College, NC passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at her residence. Born in Burke County, NC on September 3, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Charles Vernon Denton and Velsie Brittain Denton. Sylvia was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Sylvia worked as a nurse at Western Carolina Center and later worked as a private duty nurse.Mrs. Simpson is survived by her son, Tracy Rich of the home; and grandsons, Forrest and Foster Rich.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Edward Rich.A celebration of Sylvia’s life will be held at 2pm, Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Dr. Larry Cline officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
