Sylvia Knapp

Sylvia Knapp, 84, of Grace Heights, Morganton, NC passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2013. She was born in England on October 3, 1928 and when she was eight years old came with her aunt by ship to the United States. As a close friend of fifteen years, I, Donna Coffey am honored to write "Sylvies" obituary. I first met her when she became my dog sitter. She loved animals and was a pet sitter for many furbabies. She loved to travel and often told me about her motorcycle trips in her younger days with her husband George. She always encouraged me to "go while you can". In her later years, Sylvie volunteered at J. I. R. D. C. for a number of years in the Foster Grandparent Program where she made numerous friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, George and her furbaby, Missy. Sylvie and George were such a loving couple that when you met them they accepted you as family.Left to cherish her memory is her family bonded by friendship, Donna Coffey, Heather Hodges, Drew and Holly Thomas.A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
