Taft Van McFalls

Taft Van McFalls, 72, of Morganton, died Friday, December 10, 2010 following a period of declining health. He was born in Burke County on September 4, 1938 and was the son of the late Coy Van McFalls and Lucille Elizabeth Curtis McFalls. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Angel McFalls. Mr. McFalls was a painting contractor and was a member of North Morganton Baptist Church.Surviving are his wife Lula "Lou" Chester McFalls of the home; a son, David McFalls of Morganton; a nephew, Marty L. Chester of Texas, whom he raised as his son; a daughter, Louann McFalls and her husband, Steve Tolbert of Granite Falls; Linda Epps of the home, whom he raised as his daughter; and two grandsons, Darien Van Swain and Dillon Stone Swain.The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at North Morganton Baptist Church with the Reverends Kenneth Baker and Bob Diviney officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will then return to the church where they will receive friends.
