Teresa Ann Corpening Wright

Mrs. Teresa Ann Corpening Wright, 56, of Hickory, NC answered the call of the Lord on Sunday, June 28, 2015 following a period of declining health.  She was born on March 8, 1959 to Gertrude E. Corpening and the late Herbert Junior Corpening.  In addition to her loving father, Teresa was preceded in death by a brother, Tommy Reed Corpening.

She was a former member of Shiloh A.M.E. Church prior to establishing residency in the nearby city of Hickory some years ago.

Before becoming sickly, Teresa was employed by Kentucky Derby Hosiery Mill in Hickory for over 20 years.

Mrs. Wright is survived by her husband of nearly 35 years, Chris M. Wright of the home; children, Tyrone Corpening, Maurice M. Wright, and Tanisha N. Wright, all of the Hickory area; grandchildren, Zsarmani Wright, Zion Wright, Maddox Wright, and Alyssa Corpening; sisters, Nancy I. Caldwell, Sharon L. Corpening, Carolyn D. Surratt and husband, Steve, and Cathy M. Corpening; brothers, Herbert R. Corpening and his wife, Denise, of Columbia, SC, Phillip E. Corpening and his wife, Marsha, Minister Daniel R. Corpening, Johnny T. Corpening, and Edward L. Corpening, all of Morganton; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, and nephews.

The family will receive friends Friday, July 3, 2015 from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at Shiloh A.M.E. Church.  The service will follow in the church at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. Vernadean Starks officiating.  Burial will be held in the church cemetery at a later date.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
