Teresa Carswell Dale, 68, of Morganton, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 30, 2024.
Born in Burke County, NC on December 17, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Dewey Wilburt Carswell and Betty Mae Bowman Carswell.
Teresa was a member and former choir director of Summit Community Church. She retired from Burke County Public Schools, where she had served as Principal of Valdese Elementary. She liked to crochet, cross-stitch, and quilt. Teresa ran her own frame shop for years. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved being a nana and spending time with her family.
Teresa is survived by her husband, Robin Alexander Dale; daughters, Gena Brienzi (Carl) and Alexis Pearce (Kerry); grandchildren, Connor Brienzi, Caylyn Brienzi, and Kinsley Pearce; brother, James Carswell; sister, Mary Lee Carswell; and a number of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to her parents, Teresa was preceded in death by a son, Dewey Robert Dale; and a sister, Ann Goins.
The family will greet friends starting at 3 p.m. on Thursday, December 5, 2024 in the fellowship hall of Summit Community Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Summit Community Church, 407 S. Green Street, Morganton, NC 28655.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

I have good memories of our time together in the El Bethel choir. Teresa was very talented and will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with Robin, Gena , Alexis and all of Teresa's family.
Teresa was a delightful person and I enjoyed working with her at Hildebran Elementary School. She will be missed.
