Teresa Swink Forney, 55, of Valdese, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 30, 2017 at her residence. Teresa was born on May 23, 1962 in Burke County to Jerry Swink and the late Frances Kay Ingram Swink.
Teresa was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved her family dearly. She enjoyed meeting and talking with people and never met a stranger. Her grand dogs, Russell and Marvin also held a special place in her heart.
In addition to her mother, Teresa was preceded in death by her son, Oral Lee Hodge.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Pamela Denise Hodge and April Dawn Hicks and husband, Charlie; granddaughters, Lelia Hood and Abby Hicks; siblings, Sheila Ratliff, Bruce Swink, Jannette Swink, and Eric Swink; nephews and nieces; and ex-husbands, Oral Glen Hodge and Rick Forney.
No services are planned for Mrs. Forney.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
