Terry L. Huffman

Terry L. Huffman, Sr., 55, of Carbon City Rd., Morganton, NC died Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at the Burke Hospice and Palliative Care Center. Born in Catawba County, NC on January 23, 1953, he was a son of Annie Frye Hefner of Hickory, NC and the late Ned Huffman. Terry was a retired employee of Sara Lee Bakery in Valdese and for many years had also worked for several construction companies. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Clarence Hefner and his father-in-law, Ralph Giles Patton.In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Debbie Patton Huffman of the home; a daughter, Tracy Lee Kaylor and her husband, Bryan of Granite Falls, NC; a son, Terry Lee Huffman, Jr. and his wife, Jenny of Granite Falls, NC; grandchildren, Josh, Noah, and Nate Kaylor and Emily and Alex Huffman; a brother, Claude Frye of Hickory; a niece, Wanda Cordova of Lenoir, NC; his mother-in-law, Jean Patton; a number of aunts and uncles; and special friends, Jackie Wilson and Davie Hammons.The funeral will be held at Noon, Saturday, September 13, 2008 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Burke Hospice Chaplin Larry Cronk officiating. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour before the service.
