Terry Wayne Milton

Terry Wayne Milton, 54, of Morganton, NC passed away Thursday, March 15, 2012 following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Stanly County, NC on February 16, 1958, he was the son of the late Ronald Lewis Milton and Vivian Marie Starnes Wensil. Terry was of the Baptist Faith. He loved to cook, grill, and entertain friends and family who loved him dearly. He was a surrogate parent and mentor to many children and young adults. He was lovingly called Paw-Paw, Dad, and Poppa. Terry loved his 1975 Chevy Scottsdale pickup truck named "Mighty Whitey." He was a C.N.A./Phlebotomist at Broughton Hospital for many years.Terry is survived by his wife, Kay Wilson Milton of the home; a daughter, Christal Milton and husband, Walter Williams, of Albemarle; a son, Robby Milton of the home; grandchildren, Kayla Cheek, Tierra Williams, and Jonathan Cook; sisters, Kathy Gentry and husband, Richard, of Misenheimer, NC and Donna Weathers of Nashville, TN; and his faithful canine companions, Tobey and Sky "Muttley."In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by his son, Patrick Milton; grandson, Treshaun Williams; a brother, Ricky Milton; and sisters, Dianna Wensil and Annette Wensil.A celebration of Terry’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, March 18, 2012 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Freddie Williams officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home starting at approximately 3:30 p.m. following the service.
