Terry Woodie

Terry Woodie, 48, of Morganton, NC went home to be with his Savior on Friday, April 9, 2010 at Grace Hospital following an extended illness. Born in Burke County, NC on March 6, 1962, he was the son of Joyce Corinne Earley Cordell of Morganton and Charles Harrison Woodie. Terry worked in the mental healthcare field for many years. He was a great lover of animals.In addition to his mother, Terry is survived by his step-mother, Sandy Woodie of Morganton; cousins, Rhonda W. Dale, Kale Wright, Dwayne Pritchard, Ronnie Richards, Skip Dehetre, Dennis Self, Sandy Miller, and Von, Robbie, and Mark Mosteller; and friend, Mike Smith.In addition to his father, Terry was preceded in death by a close friend, Ron Poteat, and his four-legged companion, Shelby.A Celebration of Terry’s Life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 12, 2010 at St. Matthews United Methodist Church with Rev. Bill Shuffler officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses. Sossoman Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
