Thelma Causby Ritchie

Thelma Causby Ritchie, 83, of Morganton, NC, died Monday, November 3, 2014 at Grace Heights. Born March 24, 1931 in Burke County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Zeb Causby and Rilla Piercy Arney. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church where was a choir member for 50 years, played the piano, and taught Sunday school. Thelma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Ritchie; step-parents, T.N. and Lue Hallyburton; a son, Larry Ritchie; and a brother, Paul Arney.

Surviving are children, Carl Ritchie, Patsy Brown and husband, Mark, and Geneva Stilwell and husband, John all of Morganton; grandchildren, Allen Stilwell and wife, Danielle, David Stilwell and wife, Misty, Whitney Brown Conway, and Megan Ritchie Jaynes and husband, Tyler all of Morganton; great grandchildren, Madison Stilwell, Chloe and Truitt Conway; a sister, Brenda Reece of Morganton; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, November 6, 2014 at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Ward officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
