With tears and a heavy heart at this moment we would like to extend our Deepest and Sincere Condolences to all of the family. We have known Thomas for quite some time and even though we know we all will have our time we never seem to think about losing a loved one who seems like they have been one of the best and memorable parts of our lives forever. He always kept in touch weather near or far with a call or a visit and checking to see how everyone is doing. He was a Loving and Special person who cared so much for so many and would do anything to help if needed. We ran into him and Kakie about a month ago as we were laughing, talking, hugging and just enjoying the moment and the conversation with each other. He will be surely missed by us and by many but never forgotten. We love you Thomas and his Family and Friends are in our Thoughts and Prayers. Rest in Heavenly Peace true friend.
Family may God give you comfort, strength and peace as you go through these difficult days!! Tommy was so much that I don't have enough space nor words to write it all!! He will be sorely missed!! Heartbroken, but Praise GOD I do understand!!
Although Tommy was our first cousin, he was and will always be remembered as our brother. When Tommy was born in 1948, we became Jimmy, Johnny, Patricia and Tommy. We grew up together on West Concord Street from the late 40s to the mid 60s. We shared an extended family headed by William Thomas Fleming whom we affectionately called Depa. It was Depa who instilled in us racial pride in a segregated society. It was this extended family that provided the Christian values we would grow and live by for the rest of our lives, Tommy knew no strangers. He welcomed all with open arms into his house and circle of friends. He was very generous with his time and was ever ready to share with those in need. He followed Jesus's command to love one another as I have loved you. Tommy made it a regular habit of visiting the sick, infirmed and feeding the hungry. As much as it pains us to say good bye to our dear brother, we take solace in our Lord's words, "His Lord said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.' "
