Thomas Lee Ervin

Thomas was born March 6, 1939 in Morganton, NC to Annabelle & James Ervin, the younger of their two children. Tom spent his childhood growing up in Morganton, but in 1955, he decided to join his father in

Baltimore, MD. He attended and graduated from Frederick Douglas High School in 1956. He continued his education at Morgan State University, graduating in 1962 with a major in Biology. After leaving Morgan State University, he interned at the University of Maryland Hospital as a biologist later accepting a position with Merck, Sharp and Dome pharmaceutical company as a Detail Representative where he worked from 1968 through 1974. He left MSD to pursue entrepreneurial opportunities, which included individual sales, construction, and other efforts. Tom was an avid fan of the racetrack and devoted most of his free time wherever the horses were racing. He also loved golfing with his friends. 

Thomas is survived by two sons, Sidney and Philip Ervin, 2 grandsons, Jarred and Mathew Ervin and a granddaughter Rachel Ervin as well as a host of cousins.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Mission AME Church.
