Thomas "Tom" Mull

Thomas “Tom” Mull, 85, of Connelly Springs, NC died Sunday, February 22, 2015. Tom was born on November 17, 1929 in Burke County. He was the son of the late Sanford Mull and Mary Emeline Tallent Mull.
Tom was a Christian man. He was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church and attended Mull’s Chapel Church. Tom retired from Caroline Freight with thirty years of service and was awarded “Safe Driving One Million Mile Award”. He was also a beekeeper.
Tom is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Chapman Mull of the home; four children, Gary Thomas Mull and June of Lawndale, NC, Rita Mull Nichols and Clay of Connelly Springs, Wanda Mull Bechtol and Bill of Morganton, and Eddie T. Mull of Hickory, NC; seven grandchildren, Joe Mull, Sherry Jensen, Nicholas, Jarrett and Kent Phillips, MaryLeigh Colbert, and David Dowd; ten great-grandchildren; siblings, Houston Mull, Iwilla Warlick, Ruth Ramsey, and Mildred Rhoney. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant child, Jody Garland Mull; siblings, Jean Mull, Joe Mull, Muriel Smith, Corene Kirby and Argyl Miller.
The funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Mull’s Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Shane Ramsey and Rev. Bruce Piercy officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Mull Family Cemetery. Receiving of friends will be one hour prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at church.
