Tierza Barlow, 32, of Morganton, NC, passed away Monday, March 10, 2025.
Born in Catawba County, NC on November2, 1992, she was the daughter of Lisa Green Barlow and the late Dennis Keith Austin, Sr.
Tierza was a beautiful person who loved cheerleading and sports. She dearly loved her family, especially her children, and enjoyed playing in the mud with them. She also enjoyed dragonflies, butterflies, and working in the yard.
In addition to her mother, Tierza is survived by her husband, Daniel M. Poovey, Jr.; children, Lillieana Rose Levallen, Carson Lee Poovey, Kaden Poovey, and Bobby Bolick; sisters, Raven Auton and Hunter Barlow; brothers, Clayton Williams and Dennis Keith Austin, Jr.; maternal grandparents, Wade and Martha Curtis; mother-in-law, Daphne Poovey (James Suttles); and numerous other family.
Tierza was preceded in death by her father and an infant son, Daniel M. Poovey, III.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, March 17, 2025 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 18, 2025 in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Kevin Crawford officiating. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

This breaks my heart so much. I was her bus driver for so many years and I loved her and the other two. She was always such a sweet and happy person. She helped me so much while on my bus.
