Tommy Arney

Tommy Arney, 58, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 20, 2012. Mr. Arney was born in Burke County on October 11, 1954 and was a son of Billy Arney of Morganton and the late Dorothy Whisnant Arney. He was a member of Morganton Freedom Church of God.In addition to his father, Tommy is survived by his wife, Margaret Henson Arney of the home; his son, Christopher Arney and wife, Andrea, grandchildren, Calie and C. J. Arney, all of Morganton; his brother, Kenneth Arney and wife, Alma, of Morganton; sisters, Becky Clontz and husband, Harley, of Lenoir and Brenda Causby and husband, Larry, of Morganton; sister-in-law, Linda Pritchard; and nephew, Tim Pritchard.Tommy was also preceded in death by a brother, C. J. Pritchard.The funeral will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday, November 23, 2012 at Morganton Freedom Church of God with Rev. Elie Challita officiating. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. At other times the family will be at home of Christopher and Andrea Arney, 406 Rockyford Street.Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family.
