Tony Allen "Bo" Smith

Tony Allen "Bo" Smith, 45, of Morganton, NC passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at his residence. Born in Burke County, NC on March 27, 1968, he was the son of Murphy Ensley Smith and the late Mary Lee Epley Smith. Bo attended Riverside Baptist Church. He was a truck driver for H. T. Hackney and had worked at Drexel Heritage for several years.Bo is survived by his wife, Laura Bradshaw Smith, who he met and fell in love with in the 7th grade; a son, Jake Murphy Smith of the home; a daughter, Emileigh Smith of the home; brothers, Terry "Buck" Smith and his wife, Maria, and Tracy Lee Smith, both of Morganton; and a number of nephews, nieces, uncles, and aunts.In addition to his mother, Tony was preceded in death by a sister, Jeannie Smith.A celebration of Tony’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, December 29, 2013 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center with the Rev. Keith Gwyn officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service.A fund is being set up to help with his children’s education expenses.
