Troy Dudley

Troy Dudley, 81, of Morganton, NC went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, October 18, 2010 following a short illness. Born in Johnson County, NC on October 11, 1929, he was the son of the late Herbert Lester Dudley and Myrtle Whitaker Finnell. Troy had attended Friendly Freewill Baptist Church and retired from Grace Hospital.He is survived by his daughter, Zonie Rose Carter and husband, Jeff, of Morganton; grandchildren, Dave Carter and Mindy Pendley and husband, Jay; great-grandchildren, Draven Pendley and Drayke Carter; a sister, Joanne Belle of Garner, NC; and his faithful canine companion, Petey.In addition to his parents, Troy was preceded in death by his wife, Marita Louise Dudley and a sister, Mildred Mitchell.The funeral will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, October 23rd, 2010 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Clark officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday in the Burleson Family Cemetery in Newland, NC.
