Troy “T Roy” Brown, 70, of Morganton, NC went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 26, 2019. He was born on June 11, 1948 in Burke County to the late Iverson Jason Brown and Ruby Ellen Smith Brown. Troy had a very strong Christian faith. He graduated from Drexel High School where he played football and later played for Western Piedmont Community College. He owned and operated Fiddlers Greenhouse and Lounge. He also owned KarKountry Body Shop and Restoration. He was a race car driver who loved to race on dirt tracks and also loved to ride motorcycles. Troy always said, “He lived a full, filled life because he loved everyone around him with his whole heart.”
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Bollinger Brown.
Troy is survived by his daughters, Vanda Brown Benfield (Eddie) and Ellen Brown Williams (Mark) both of Morganton; grandchildren, Miranda Benfield and Mikkaylla Benfield; brothers, Melvin Brown (Laura), Clifton Brown, Terry Brown (Jackie).
The family will receive friends from 1:00pm - 3:00pm, Friday, March 29, 2019 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The service will follow at 3:00pm in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastors Danny Ward, Ronnie LeFevers and Brenda Wells officiating. At other times, the family will be at Troy’s home.
