Trudy Elma Jewell Allman

Trudy Elma Jewell Allman, 88, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, January 15, 2019. Born on May 23, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Dixie and Delia Norman.

Trudy was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved working in her yard and in her garden. Trudy loved her flowers where she could enjoy the birds. She loved cooking for her family. Trudy also enjoyed spending time with her faithful cat “Jazzy.”

Trudy is survived by her daughter, Dolores Allman Gettys; son, Marty Allman; grandchildren, Chris Gettys (Tracy), Jody Gettys, Brenda Throneburg (Donald), Heather Ridings (Lee); seven great grandchildren; brother, Clyde Norman (Betty); sister, Zenie Poteat; and a number of nieces, nephews and extended family members.

In addition to her parents, Trudy is preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Martin Allman; daughters, Sharon Elaine Allman, Barbara Marlyn Allman; sisters, Nell Kimbrell, Vergie Smith, Ann Burleson, Sudie Newton.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The graveside service will be held at 3p.m., Sunday, January 20, 2019, at Quaker Meadows Presbyterian Church with Pastor Billy Poteat officiating.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
