V.A. "A.V." Morgan

V.A. "A.V." Morgan, 72, of Duckworth Ave., died Sunday, May 04, 2008, at his residence following a period of declining health. "A.V." was born June 6, 1935 in McDowell County to the late Claude and Sarah Morgan. He was a member of Friendly Freewill Baptist Church and was retired from Henredon Furniture. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Wayne Morgan."A.V." is survived by his wife, Faye Hensley Morgan of the home; a daughter, Judith Moore and husband, Eddie; a grandson, Cody Moore; a daughter-in-law, Gail Morgan all of Morganton; a sister, Lula Mae Reel of Marion; and a favorite niece, Mildred Hensley and husband, Johnny of Marion. Several other nieces and nephews also survive.Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at Friendly Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Daniel Hensley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
