Valerie Lynn Edwards, 48, of Morganton, NC died Sunday, October 19, 2014. Born in San Bernardino, CA on September 24, 1966, she was the daughter of Bobby and Barbara Edwards of Connelly Springs, NC. Valerie was a member of Oak Forest United Methodist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
Valerie is survived by her daughter, Alisha Dyson of Connelly Springs, NC; a son, Bryan Dyson of Connelly Springs; a grandson, Santiago Mancio of Connelly Springs; her long-time companion, Curtis Moore of Morganton; a uncle, Keith Nietch; her loving aunts, Reba, Linda, and Gail; a number of cousins; and many long-time friends.
Valerie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Dan and Grace Edwards and Lonnie and Mildred Robertson; uncles, Earl, Dallas, Doyle, and Grady Edwards; and an aunt, Sharon Rude.
The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 23, 2014 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center with the Rev. Charles Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
