Veriena "Beaner" Freeman

Veriena "Beaner" Freeman, 61, of Neil Road, Morganton, NC went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Burke County, NC on May 3, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Grover Clark and Nola Helms Clark. Beaner was an active member of Nowlings Chapel Freewill Baptist Church and retired from Drexel Heritage where she had worked for over 33 years. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be dearly missed by all.Beaner is survived by her husband of 26 years, Ray Freeman; a daughter, Pamela Carswell Dupuis and husband, Joe, of Morganton; stepchildren, Kevin Freeman, Tim Freeman, Dreama Freeman, and Shannon Freeman, all of Morganton; a grandchild, Jennifer Dupuis; step-grandchildren, Desiree, Alesia, Amanda, Eric, Tim, Tracy, Kayla, Elaina, Tim, Damian, Ethan, and Tanner; four step-great-grandchildren; brothers, Homer, Burean, Palmer, and Alden Clark; sisters, Judy Pearson and Becky Bradshaw; and numerous nephews and nieces.In addition to her parents, Beaner was preceded in death by brother, Floyd and Claude Clark, and a sister, Laverne Arrowood.The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, August 8, 2010 at Nowlings Chapel Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Darvy Hensley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
