Versie Ila Foreman

Versie Ila Foreman, 90, of Morganton Long Term Care, and formerly of Foreman St. in Morganton, died Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at Grace Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born March 14, 1920 in Burke County, she was a daughter of the late James Stanley Smith and Lovenia Walker Smith. Versie was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, and a retired employee of Broughton Hospital with 10 years of service.She is survived by a son, Mack Foreman, Jr. and his wife, Margaret of Morganton; daughters, Maxine Merrill and husband, Jerry of Morganton, Lovenia Searcy and husband, Worth of Charlotte, and Betty Jean Mosteller of Morganton; nine grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mack Wilson Foreman; three brothers; four sisters; and one great-grandchild.Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, December 27, 2010 at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. J. D. Grant and Rev. Bill Holland officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service. Sossoman Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
