Vinson McKee, 82 of Morganton, NC passed away Monday, July 8, 2019. Born on February 27, 1937, he was the son of the late William and Lucy McKee. Vinson was a member of Morganton First Assembly of God (FAM Church). He retired from Broughton Hospital.
Vinson is survived by his wife, Sandra McKee; sons, V. Stewart McKee (Lisa) and Levon McKee (Sis); grandchildren, Jordan McKee, Skyler McKee, Jessica McKee White (Matthew), Kyle McKee (Taylor), Leslie Lane, Brent Lail, Patrick Lail; brother, Harold McKee; sisters, Emily Watkins and Linda Pritchard; great-grandchildren, Lily Kay McKee, Karter McKee, Karrigan McKee, Rowan White, Bailey Lane, Summer Lane, Grayson Lane; extended family from Paraguay, South America, Maria Sosa, Gabriel Meza, Christian Meza, Leda Ortiz Vely, Blanca Torales Coromel; his feline queen, Chloe; and caregiver, Shelia Mayes; Nichole Kirschner.
In addition to his parents, Vinson is preceded in death by his brothers, Lawrence McKee, James McKee; twin brother, Vernon McKee; sisters, Kathleen Russ and Opal McKee.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 12, 2019 at Morganton First Assembly of God. The funeral will be held in the church at 2:00 p.m. with Pastors, John White and Jonathan Reece officiating. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 1721 Enon Road, Valdese, NC 28690.
