Viola Moore Bass

Viola Moore Bass, 85, of Morganton, NC died Saturday, March 01, 2014. Mrs. Bass was born July 13, 1928 in Brooklyn, NY to the late James Moore and Marie Hartoung Moore. She was a loving mother and devoted to her family.Viola is survived by her children, James Bass and wife, Gail of Lenoir, Thomas Bass and wife, Kelly, of Morganton, Joseph Bass and wife, Pam, of Lenoir and Nancy Bass Hart and husband, Elzie of Morganton; brother, James Moore and wife, Lillian of Fredericksburg, VA; grandchildren, Dustin J Bass and wife, Crystal of Conover, Colt Bass and wife, Tatia of Lenior, Blake Bass of Ashville, Joseph Bass of Lenoir, Justin Bass and wife, Chelsee of Lenior, Marc Parham and wife, Erin of Mooresville, Joshua S. Parham of Morganton, Jonathan S. Parham and spouse, Dennis of Charlotte, Kelly Hart Pope and husband, Jason of Morganton and Craig F. Hart and wife, Elizabeth of Rock Hill; and fourteen great- grandchildren.In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Bass and a sister, June Bass.A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 3, 2014 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center with the Rev. Ed Stephenson officiating. A family committal of the urn will take place at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday at Palm Tree United Methodist Church in Vale, NC.
