Viola Rhoney Robinson

Viola Rhoney Robinson, 98, of East Fleming Dr. in Morganton died Sunday, November 9, 2008 at College Pines Nursing Center following a period of declining health. She was born September 28, 1910 in Catawba County, NC and was a daughter of the late Fred Rhoney and Lille Mae Johnson Rhoney. Viola was a member of the Morganton First Church of God. She was a former employee of Burke Yarns and retired from Valdese Manufacturing and Burke Yarns. Viola loved her flowers and her family.Viola is survived by a son, Airlene Lee Robinson of Valdese; a daughter, Joyce R. Berry and husband, Gene, of Morganton; grandchildren, Mark Berry, Karl Lee Robinson, Angie Robinson, and Tressa Stogner; and sisters, Eula Mae Hyde and Essie King, both of Morganton.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Lee Robinson; brothers, J. D. Rhoney, Jessie Rhoney, and Edmund Rhoney; and a sister, Vergie Stroupe.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 12, 2008 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park.
