Viola Sisk Keller, 93, of Morganton went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 13, 2012. She was a resident of Sunrise Rehabilitation and Care in Nebo, NC. Born in McDowell County, NC on September 12, 1919, she was the daughter of the late John and Lola Lowdermilk Sisk. Viola was an active member of Morganton Wesleyan Church. She retired from Shadowline after 17 years of service. Viola was a member of the Morganton Senior Club and the Friendly Tuesday Club. She was a loving mother, nanny, and a friend to everyone.Viola is survived by her Son, Stephen Keller and his wife, Constance, of Morganton; Daughters, Joyce Crump and her husband, Howard, of Valdese, Glenda Slaughter and her husband, Blair, of High Point, NC, and Susan Jarrett and her husband, Kirby, of Morganton; Grandchildren, Greg Crump and his wife, Harriette, of Valdese, Todd Crump and his wife, Amy, of Apex, NC, Zack Pritchard of Morganton, Shannon Cranford and her husband, Michael, of Thomasville, NC, and Kurt Jarrett of Asheville; great-grandchildren, Alexis Crump, Chase Crump, Brittany Crump, Madison Cranford, Tanner Cranford, and Kaleigh Pritchard; and a sister, Dorothy Radford and her husband, Boyce, of Forest City, NC.In addition to her parents, Viola was preceded in death by her husband, John Wesley Keller; six brothers; three sisters; and a granddaughter, Amy Slaughter.The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, November 16, 2012 at Gibb’s Chapel Wesleyan Church with Reverends Bake Garman, Roger Brackett, and Danny Jaynes officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service. At other times the family will be at Viola’s residence on Brookside Lane.Memorial contributions may be made to Morganton Wesleyan Church, 305 Bethel Street, Morganton, NC 28655. Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
