Virgie Lee Hensley, 80, of Morganton, NC, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2025.
Born in Madison County, NC on May 6, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Edison Andrew Hensley and Grace Shelton Hensley.
Virgie possessed a profound love for nature and found immense joy in her garden, where she nurtured a variety of beautiful flowers that brought color and life to her surroundings. In addition to her love of gardening, she was an exceptional cook. Her kitchen was always filled with the comforting aroma of her culinary creations. She was a devout Christian, who lived her life guided by faith and compassion.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Mike Hensley (Lori); daughter, Debra Hensley; grandchildren, Tyler Hensley (Megan) and Destiny Little (Kendall); great-grandchildren, Skylar and Charlotte Hensley; brothers, Douglas Hensley (Debbie), Bruce Hensley (Jo), Denver Hensley (Mary), and Billy Hensley (Tootie); and a number of loving nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to her parents, Virgie was preceded in death by her husband, Carson Hensley.
No services are planned for Mrs. Hensley.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
