Virginia Belle Huffman

Virginia Belle Huffman, 95, of Morganton, NC died Tuesday, December 3, 2013. Born in Burke County, NC on November 17, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Joe and Ida Huffman. Virginia was a faithful member of Walker’s Chapel Baptist Church. She was a great cook, loved gardening, and enjoyed quilting with her friends.Virginia is survived by her son, Dennis Huffman and his wife, Barbara, of Morganton; daughters, Shirley Brown and her husband, Charles, of Drexel, NC, Doris Reynolds of Drexel, Faye Clark and her husband, Buren, of Morganton, and Janet Smith and her husband, Marion, of Hickory, NC; grandchildren, Kenneth Brown, Tammy Ritchie, Allen Huffman, and Charles "Clay" Clark; eleven great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Versie Carswell of Morganton.In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Huffman; a grandson, Jamie Powell; a great-great-grandson, Andrew Brown; and a brother, Fred Huffman.The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 6, 2013 at Walker’s Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny McNeilly and the Rev. Ken VanBuskirk officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
