Virginia Elizabeth Shuping Webb

Virginia Elizabeth Shuping Webb, 93, of Drexel, NC passed away, Saturday, October 31, 2015.  Born in Burke County, NC on March 15, 1922, she was the daughter of the late David Harrison and Celeste Hollar Shuping.  Virginia graduated from Drexel High School in 1939.  She worked at Drexel Knitting Mill for many years and retired from Drexel Heritage Furnishings.  Mrs. Webb was a devoted member of Zion Memorial United Methodist Church where she was a member of the church choir and the Women’s Missionary Society.

Virginia is survived by her sons, Melvin Webb and his wife, Sylvia, Donnie Webb and his wife, Judy, and Jerry Webb and his companion, Tina Allman; grandchildren, Sandy Webb, Christopher Webb, Jessica Webb, Kim Webb, and Jason Webb; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Betty S. Williams.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Webb was preceded in death by her husband, Jake Webb; a granddaughter, Kimberly Dawn Webb; a great-granddaughter, Adriana Webb; a brother, William David Shuping; and sisters, Millie Dean Huffman and Gilda Hubbard.

The graveside service will be held at 4 p.m., Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Burke Memorial Park with the Rev. Logan Miller officiating. The family will greet friends in the cemetery following the graveside.
